What is Ray of Hope?
Ray of Hope Summer Program is a 7-week day camp for children with emotional, behavioral, and/or economic challenges ages 5-12 years old, offering fun and recreation, arts and crafts, field trips, one-on-one time, and life-skills classes; we also provide breakfast and lunch. 2008 Camp Dates: June 30 - August 15, 2008
Ray of Hope Vision
To assist in the development of struggling children in the social, emotional and spiritual parts of their lives.
Ray of Hope Daily Schedule (sample)
Children will spend half the day in a high quality day camp experience:
- High Energy Skits
- Singing
- Games & Recreation
- Arts & Crafts
- Small Group Time
Other half of the day will include:
- Team Sports
- Swimming
- Field Trips
- Hikes
- Adventure
- Horseback Riding
Ray of Hope is designed to be a place where the counselors develop close mentoring relationships with each child, and kids are taught the life skills necessary to understand, talk about, and cope with what is happening in their lives in healthy, positive ways.
